Merry Christmas!!

Jeff's family is on their way here, and I'm so excited. We finally got the house all done, the bedrooms are put together, and I'm making some homemade soup for them and some homemade bread baking. While they're here I won't be online much, so I'll have a big update after they leave with pictures :) I want to go ahead and wish everyone a MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! I hope you have a wonderful day with those you love.

Winter Wonderland!

I was attempting to capture the beauty of the snow today and the heavy snow that was falling, but I don't think I quite got it. This is the tree in our back yeard though. I've tried and tried to get a whole picture of it, but it's too huge. It is a beautiful day though. I hate driving in snow, but it does make everything so pretty!

No title for tonight.

Here's a picture of Jeff and I last Christmas and I just decided to use it b/c I was looking for a new picture I could post, and I wanted a picture of me and my oney up here. Jeff looks nice in red, huh? We have one week till Jeff's family gets here and I can't wait. I think I have almost all of the ingredients to start making all of the Christmas cookies! I love this time of year and all of the good smells that fill your home and all of the wonderful sights. I just think it's especially nice that Jeff's family and my new family will be here with us this Christmas. It will make everything just so much more special. It'll be fun to have this big Christmas and do fun things with family b/c I know that once I start school and have a new job...my fun will be over b/c I won't get as much time off from work, and I definitely can't miss school. I'm ready for school though. I've always done well. At this point I'm just ready to get it over with so we can be on to new things! I've been having mixed feelings b/c I want to go to school and get my degree just so I have it if something would ever happen to Jeff then I would be able to care of myself and our kids (when we have them), but I don't want to work when I have kids. I think at the most I'll work 2 or 3 days a week, so I can spend as much time as possible with my kids. I know my mom regrets that she didn't stay home with us, and I don't want to have those regrets. I can handle 2 or 3 days away, and only a few days of work as an RN is a heck of a lot more money than I make now as a hairstylist. I guess I just had to vent. It's something I think about a lot. I know though that once we're done it'll be totally possible, so I shouldn't stress. I just want to be the best wife and mother I can be in this life. I do believe that Jeff and I will be great parents someday! Just remember that family is so, so important!! Make those that you love a big priority in your life. I must get going for now. Have a good night for everyone! I send my love to you all.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.

We are under a snow advisory right now, so we're expecting a lot of snow. I must say though that it's very beautiful and it's the kind of snow that sparkles. I love it! I'm just not looking forward to driving in it tomorrow. I had a good day today. I finished up some more Christmas shopping. I finally have my husband's presents. Men can be hard to buy for, huh? I also got all of the wrapping paper and bows and ribbons. It's such a good feeling to hand someone a beautifully wrapped package. Now we only have my mom and dad to take care of and I think that's it. Everyone else is taken care of. I just love this time of year! I just sat here and filled out applications online for the hospital and for Birchaven nursing home. Pray that the hospital calls me first. That's the job I really, really want. It also seems to be the more ideal places to work and it's only like 2 minutes from our house. I know I'm praying hard b/c it's where I really want to be. Well, I must go for now. I know there wasn't much to report today, but I just wanted to add a little update. Have a good night everyone, and try to stay warm!

The first big snow of the season!

We came home from church today and Jeff shoveled snow for the first time at our house and I got pictures of my little black dog all covered in snow! Here are the pics! Enjoy!

A kiss goonight from one whose love is true, that's the kind of day I wish for you....

Today is my birthday and I am the big 24. It's hard to believe that I'm 24 because I still feel like I'm 16. Jeff told me it's ok to be 24 because I still act like I'm 16. That could be good or bad, I'm not sure. I'll take it as a compliment. Today has been a great day so far. My mom and dad came here to Findlay so we could go out to eat for my birthday before Jeff went to work. We went to Hacienda, my favorite Mexican place here in town. Then we came back to our house to have my cake and some ice cream. After Jeff left for work my mom and I went to Kohl's to do a little shopping. I spent my birthday money and I bought a couple pairs of pants and some sweaters for this winter. It felt good to shop like that b/c I haven't in a long time and anyone who knows me knows that I could shop for days on end!! Now I"m home and I'm lonely without my honey on my birthday. So, I've just been catching up on the shows I Tivo'd. My Maggie is here too to keep me company :) I'll head on out for now. I love you all! Goodnight!

The most wonderful time of the year

It's almost midnight here and I'm wide awake and very happy. We just found out that Jeff's family can come for Christmas and I'm so excited. We'll spend our first Christmas in our first house with lots of family around. That's how I like to spend Christmases. So, I plan on having a nice big crock pot full of Amish soup ready for everyone with some homemade bread to warm their bellies. That Amish cookook has come in so handy. I'm not as good at making my mom's sugar cookies yet, it's a very touchy recipe, so I'm going to bake Amish cookies and goodies and start my own tradtitions. I just want everyone to have a great time here. Jeff and I sure will have a wonderful time!! I wish we all lived closer so we could do stuff together all the time, my brother an his family included. Well, I need to go dry my hair. I just wanted to share my good news with everyone! Goodnight!
P.S. I had to add Maggie's pic again b/c she is so stinkin cute in her sweater!

Maggie, Thanksgiving and Amish Country

A Happy Anniversary!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. Thursday we went to my uncle's house. It was so nice to see family that we don't get to see that often. I wish we could spend more time over there b/c we always have so much fun. Grandpa kept us entertained the whole time. He's not our Grandpa though. He's the father of my uncle's wife, but everyone calls him Grandpa. He's so cute and tells the funniest stories. We just had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
On Fri Jeff and I left for Amish Country to get away for our anniversary. Our room was beautiful! IT was even better in person than it was in the pictures. So, we checked in there and then we went to eat at Der Dutchman. They have fabulous food! Then we went back to the room just to relax and enjoy peace and quiet. At like 6pm we were ready to fall asleep and then at 7:30 I got hungry for ice cream....forgetting that everything there closes at 7. We did find an ice cream shop/bakery that was open and I got the best strawberry ice cream I've ever had. The next day we had a free breakfast at Dutch Harvest and it was to die for. Then we were off to do some shopping. I found a beautiful antique picture for $28! I couldn't believe we got it for that price and the picture is from 1897 I think. I got a couple berry swags to go over doorways. We got cheese, fudge, cookies, a couple Christmas presents for people. It was a grand time! It was the perfect getaway.
Today was our anniversary. We made it! One year. It's been the best year of my life! Or, should I say our life :) If the first year is the hardest year then the rest of our life together should be awesome b/c we had a pretty great year!
I must run for now. Nighty-night everyone!

There's no place like home for the holidays!

Yahoo! Avatars

I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving! I hope everyone has a wonderful day with those that they love, and for those we can't be with on Thanksgiving....We love you and our hearts are with you.
I would also like to wish my mom a Happy Birthday. She is the most amazing, strong woman, and has been such a good example to me. I love her so much!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone !

I love the Christmas season!

The Ultimate Doo-Wop Concert

Charlie Thomas and The Drifters were the finale and
they sang "On Broadway", "Spanish Harlem" and
many other hits!

The Fleetwooods sang "Mr. Blue"

"Diamond" Dave Somerville sang "Little Darling"

Gene Chandler sang "The Duke of Earl"

I could give myself a smack, but I can't remember
their name. They sang, "Happy, Happy Birthday Baby"

Randy and the Rainbows sang "Densie"

The Doves sang "Could this be Magic"

The Bobettes sang " Mr. Lee "

A Wonderful Weekend!

This weekend was a great weekend. Saturday was Maggie's first birthday. I know it's cheesy, but we bought her a cup cake as you can see. I feel like she's my bab, and I love spoiling her. If I'm this ga-ga over my dog I can't imagine how I'll be when I have a baby! Anyway, she loved eating the cupcake after we took her picture with it :) My mom and dad bought her a toy that talks and barks and she's deathly afraid of it! I guess that when you're only 8 pounds you have to be on guard all the time.
Saturday night, Jeff and I went with my mom and dad and Ken and Marie to The Ultimate Doo-Wop show in Toledo. It was awesome! I grew up listening to only that music, and it was so fun!
It was nice just having some time to spend with family and friends and my husband (most importantly). With our schedules, I don't always get to see him as much as I'd like. I'm really looking forward to this weekend b/c we will be celebrating our 1st wedding anniversary. We'll be going down to Amish country just to have a slower pace where we can relax and enjoy peace and quiet and eat some good food. I don't think anything beats Amish cooking. I would like to go through the antique malls too and see if I can find any little things to put out around our new house :)
I must go now, I'm making some spaghetti for dinner. It feels good to be settled and cooking again. It makes me feel normal. Nighty-night everyone!

Hey, boys and girls! I'm sorry it has been so long since I've made an entry. Jeff and I have been so busy! We're finally all moved into our house and now we are just putting things where we want. We have a little bit of painting to do. Mom is coming over tomorrow and finishing up the woodwork in the living room and I need to paint the kitchen and we just need to do the trim and ceiling in our hallway then put wallpaper below the chair rail we have down the hall and we'll be done. I love this house. Jeff and I have been very fortunate to have the opportunity to get this house. When we first moved in, it was very surreal. Jeff and I were talking one night and I told him that it was almost scary to be in the house because it was such a grown up move. It's kinda scary when you get to this age when you and your friends are getting married and having babies and getting houses. It's very fun and rewarding though. Everyday I see how blessed Jeff and I are, and I also see how blessed I am to have Jeff. I know some girls in horrible messes and it makes me so thankful that Jeff is such a great man. He's so hard working and loving and respectful. I could hav every easily ended up in a bad situation, so I thank God everyday for parents who raised me to have a good head on my shoulders, for leading Jeff to me, and for Jeff's parents raising him so well. Pray for me because I have hug decisions to make concerning school and work. The way it look right now, I think I'm going to have to get a job with an assisted living place because they will pay for me to get my nurse's aid certification that I need and they'll also help with tuition. So, today or tomorrow I'm going to call and make an appointment to go in and speak with whoever does the hiring and see if I can get some answers to help me make big decisions. I know that working for a place like that would be a good move for me for school, but it's scary because I've worked in the hair industry for 4 years, and this is going to be such a huge change. I know it'll be a good change, but change is always a little frightening. Well, I must head on out for now. I need to get ready for work. Have a wonderful day! (Sorry the pic is a little crooked)

The Best Day Ever!

Today was the most wonderful day! Jeff and I signed the papers for our house, and we got the keys today! My mom and I painted today, which was fun. I must say though, the living room came out a little more yellow than I wanted, but I believe it will look very nice once all of our stuff is in there. I never realized how much painting takes out of you. I was up and down and up and down on the ladder and my shoulders and forearms hurt so badly that I don't know if I'll be able to move tomorrow. We painted 3 rooms in 6 hours, so that's not bad I guess. The living room is very big so that was a lot of wall to cover! I think I'll go make myself a cup of tea and relax and watch tonight's episode of Top Model. Nighty-night!

Colorado was wonderful!

Jeff and I had a wonderful time in Colorado together. I was so happy when he got there b/c I was so sad without my honey. We had a ton of fun at the CSU game, especially b/c they won! I loved Jeff's parents' cabin too! It was so peaceful and serene up there, and the scenery was so beautiful with mountains all around us!

I just got home from Owens where I took my entrance exam. I was so nervous about taking it that I was even crying, but all is well!!! I finished the test and Linda told me that I had the highest scores she's ever seen. She said she's only ever seen one other person score higher in math and that girl tested into Trig, so I'm pretty much right where I need to be, which is wonderful b/c that's right where I wanted to be! So, on Friday I'll go speak with my advisor and figure out where I go from here. I can't wait to get started. I'm definitely ready for a change!!

Jeff and I go tomorrow to do the paperwork for our house!! I am so excited. I can't believe we'll have something to call our own! My mom and I are going to go in tomorrow afternoon to paint the rooms, and I can't wait for that either! Jeff and I picked out some pretty colors for the rooms. So continue to keep us in your prayers b/c we have some exciting but busy times ahead of us :)
Have a wonderful evening everyone!

My little pumpkin head!

Colorado is so beautiful this time of year. The mountains are covered with snow and the air is crisp! I'm having fun here on vacation. It's so good to see friends and family that you love so much. Tomorrow Jeff flies in and I can't wait. I miss him so much! Although I'm having a lot of fun, I don't think I'll leave before he does again. It's so weird not having him around to tell me his cheesy jokes and to sing like Bing Crosby. It's hard being without your best friend. I'm glad Maggie is with me though. She's sleeping with me at night and that helps me to not feel so lonely. Today I'm going to spend the day with Lesley and try on Bridesmaid dresses for her wedding then we'll do some shopping and eating. I just want to say that I've known her for almost 11 years and she's been a wonderful friend. We've been through so much together! So Lesley, thank you for the wonderful friendship you've given me. Everytime I call you or see you, it's like I never left :) Well, I must head on out to get ready for my day. I will take a lot of pictures the next few days I'm here so everyone can see how beautiful it is here. Have a wonderful day everyone! ... and isn't Maggie so cute in her pumpkin costume?!

We have a place to call home....

Jeff and I received a call Sun. night from Jim Williamson informing us that the house is our's!!! Oh, I can't wait to move in. Jeff and I already have all of the paint colors picked out for the rooms, so next week we'll go in and paint before we move in. That seems to be the easiest way since there won't be any furniture in the way. Thank you for all of those who were praying for us! God answers prayer and is always faithful :) We couldn't be happier!

On Our Way to Getting a House....

I'm sitting here bored while Jeff is at work. I'm still resting b/c I'm trying to get well before tomorrow b/c I have to work. Today Jeff and I went to talk with Jim Williamson about a house he owns that we're very interested in. He gave us much promise and I'm praying that we can get it. Jeff and I both want this so much. Maggie would love it too b/c it has a big fenced back yard and she could run to her little heart's content.
I just found out today that I can register for classes this coming Monday, so I need to schedule an appointment to take my entrance exam. I'm scared b/c it's been a good 5 years since I've seen a math problem. I know this will all be worth it in the end though.
So keep Jeff and I in your thoughts and prayers b/c we have a busy time ahead of us!

Via Dolorosa

This website touched my heart and I wanted to share it with everyone http://www.andiesisle.com/viadolorosa-dialup.html It's a song that I love and I hope you come to love it too b/c this is what the Christian life is all about! Enjoy!

I've got the mid-week blues...

I've been sitting here all day sick with a fever and a horrible sinus infection. Atleast I have today and tomorrow off to recouperate. I would just like to thank my husband for being so good to me. He got all of the cleaning done for me so I could spend all day resting. Isn't that so good of him?! I'm so fortunate to have him. I also need rest b/c there was huge drama at work this week and some horrible things happened. It's so hard to work with women. They're so moody! Starting Monday I'll be off for 2 and a half weeks while we get remodeled and trust me, we're all counting down! Colorado here I come! I can't wait to see my brother and his family and my friends from high school and Jeff's parents. Jeff's parents are the sweetest people! I love being around them. His parents graduated from CSU so we'll be going to a football game and I know Jeff can hardly wait. He told me that's his favorite thing to do with his dad :) He needs a vacation too since he's been working 7 days a week. I feel so bad b/c I know he wants to be home more. So be praying that a new door of oppurtunity might open up. I pray daily for all of the people he works with b/c I know it has to be so hard on everyone.
Anyway, I love this picture I posted. It reminds me of a sunset on a tropical island where I'd love to be right now! God gave us a beautiful world didn't He...

Oh how I love Tiffany & Co.

My husband and I received the famous Tiffany blue box yesterday. For those of you who don't know, my husband and I met on eHarmony and I recommend it to anyone who is single. It's a wonderful site and very detailed. Anyway, they're sending a wedding present to their couples who get married and it's a beautiful crystal bowl that was designed especially for eHarmony. It's absolutely beautiful!! The rim of the bowl is outlined in heart, and the sparkle it has is amazing. Once again, thank you eHarmony, and thank you Tiffany's!

There was huge excitment in Findlay, Oh this weekend b/c Ben Roethlisberger was here. He was at Findlay's homecoming game on Fri signing autographs and getting pictures with people and then he was down on the sidelines with the players. Saturday he was his sister's date to homecoming. He was going all out and getting a limo and everything. I did up-do's all day and the girls were so excited to be there and to see him. I would have dressed up and gone too if I could have gotten away with it, but I'm over 21 and married, so I just came home and enjoyed a romantic dinner at The Olive Garden with my husband. To Ben.....I hope you had a wonderful time here at home, and the people here just love you!

Thursday, September 29, 2005

Today has been the most uneventful day, but that's ok because Homecoming is this weekend and I'm booked with up-do's, so I know I'll be wishing then that I could sit like I am now. My husband and I are planning to make a big decision soon. In the morning we're going to go to a mortgage place to see about getting our first home loan! It's all very exciting and scary, but it'll be a good change. Right now we live in new luxury apartments that were just built and we're so over it right now. If you are renting at all, becareful of there you live. Our property mgr. and her husband are known for just dropping in on you. One day my husband and I were sleeping and we hear Maggie barking so Jeff got out of bed to take her outside and when he opened the door there stood our maintenance man. He said he didn't think anyone was home so he just let himself in to change light fixtures that had a "recall" on them. We're just ready to have a place of our own where our little dog can run in the back yard, and we can paint, wallpaper, or do whatever we want. It'll be exciting when we finally something we can call our own :)

Greetings to everyone :) I'm Cara Delehoy and this is my life. This has been a good year. On Nov. 27, 2004 I married Jeff. He is the love of my life. There are definitely a lot of adjustments to be made during the first year of marriage. It's full of ups and downs, compromise and lots of love. My advice to those newlyweds out there and those who are considering getting married is...Don't give up. Even when you think it's something you're never going to make it through, just be patient and love eachother unconditionally, work through it and you'll be glad that you did. I've also learned that marriage isn't 50/50, it's 100/100. Married life is wonderful and I wouldn't trade it for anything else in this world b/c I have a good husband who works hard to provide for us and he loves me with all of his heart :) We also have a cute puppy whose name is Maggie. She's my baby! So, I'm sure you'll be hearing alot of wonderful things about my life with Jeff and Maggie along this little journey, and remember....count your blessings everyday. So, welcome to my world....
